Monsoons are a great time to holiday. What with multiple discounts offered by resorts and hotels. If you’re living in landlocked Bangalore, then you can make the most of both beaches and hills. Here’s a quick list we’ve drawn up for you to holiday in this season:
- Hampi: Monsoon is the best time for Hampi. The showers certainly cool down the heat in that part of the region, while the landscape is verdant green, with a bed of sunflowers in full bloom around Chitradurga, en route to Hampi.
- Ooty: Cosy up under a thick blanket in a homestay located in a tea estate in the Queen of hills. Being off-season time, you are sure to find a great accommodation at a dearth cheap rate. With very few crowds heading up this time of the year, you are bound to have the station purely for yourself!
- Tranquebar: The Danish architecture and the multiple beaches make for a great monsoon break at this former Danish colony.
- Coorg: Abbey Falls roars in the monsoons. Stay at one of the homestays with a typical Coorgi family and enjoy the home cooked food while watching the rain gods dance upon this charming district, called ‘Scotland of India’.
