Banners put up in ancestral village of Kamala Harris

Thulasendrapuram, a lush green South Indian village located about 320 kms south from the city of Chennai is the ancestral home of the maternal grandfather of Kamala Harris. The residents of the village are so proud of her and are praying for a result that will make her the second most powerful person in the world’s richest country.

They have put up banners that say “from Thulasendrapuram to America”. Kamala’s grandfather P.V. Gopalan migrated with his family to Chennai around 90 years ago. Some banners have messages written in Tamil and a picture of Kamala Harris with the White House in the background. The locals are planning to conduct an ‘abhisegham’ to pray for Kamala’s victory.
