The first day of BFW 2018 at Clark’s Exotica in Hegganahalli, Bengaluru, was sheer runway euphoria. Presented by Wear.Style, an online fashion store, BFW 2018 showcased the Spring-Summer (SS18) collections of high fashion designers who set the ramp ablaze with their smoldering creations in the brightest summer hues. The event gave oodles of spring-summer wardrobe inspiration to fashionistas and pretty much anyone with an obsession for keeping their wardrobes à la mode. The first day of the event opened with a show put together by the students Dream Zone School of Creative Studies, which showcased bold slits and flamboyant drapes in warm summer hues, followed by showcasing of Lushai Designs by Mami Khawlhring. The runway was then taken over by Mortal-Immortal | MI by Janki & Hrushikesh. Shilpa Waghray’s contemporary Indian ethnic wear label Eternal Libaas, then showcased the Elegant Regalia collection, which has Persian undertones. The day closed with a stellar showcase by Indian ‘Nouvelle Couture’ and luxury fashion designer, Pria Kataaria Puri’s summer collection, Santorini. The Bharat Yuva Ratna and Bharat Vikas Award winner’s collection, inspired by Santorini’s spell-binding island, is racy, elegant yet sensuous, feminine yet strong, breezy yet structured. Tailored with a blend of over 14 fabrics, in exquisite shades of blue, enchanting shades of sunset (peach, corals to crimson reds) and raw whites, the collection features flattering silhouettes that can be embraced by women of all sizes and shapes. Divya Khosla Kumar was the showstopper for designer Pria Kataaria Puri. She set the ramp on fire at Bangalore Fashion Week 18.
