So you love to bake. Who doesn’t like the whiff of freshly baked aromas emanating out of the kitchens. There’s a lot that one can say through food. Baking is an art, a passion, a metaphor for life. And if you’re the one who can bake like a pro and also blog actively alongside, then only sky’s the limit for you. Meet some of Bengaluru’s baker bloggers whose baking blogs will inspire you to move beyond picking up ready-to-eat, boxed bakes that throng the stores.

Balancing the act of baking and blogging: Yes, I recently started working for Uber Eats as a food photographer! Since I’m in the space I’m passionate about, I get to do lots in terms of meeting restaurant owners, chefs, other bakers, attend blogger events etc. I make time in between for shoots or when travelling around the city to blog or post about food on my blog or Instagram (@kelipaan). My husband Keshav Ambuga and I jointly run our Home baking business. Since I’m currently pursuing something else (Food photography that is very dear to me), I do my bit before heading to work or once I’m back from work.
Specialties: We specialise in buttercream cakes and we adorn the cake only with fondant toppers, we do not cover our cakes with fondant. Our red velvet cake and dense chocolate cakes have been our best sellers.
Doing it differently: Floured as a bakery is different from others around, because we offer best of both worlds – a good old homebaked cake, smothered with buttercream and fondant accents used only to adorn the cakes.
Baking trends: Wholesome, whole wheat and millet baking is currently topping the baking trends currently in Karnataka.
Flourishing and how: Home bakers are thriving since everyone now wants to explore and try something different and customise cakes to a whole new level, which other commercial bakeries cannot offer. The attention to detail and the passion homebakers have to what they do is what is making this shine!
