Supreme Court grant bail to BJP leader Priyanka Sharma who was arrested and sent to judicial custody for sharing a morphed image of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Facebook.The Court asked Ms.Sharma to tender a written apology after she leaves custody. The Court felt that a person does not have freedom to step on the toes of another person. The Vacation Bench comprising of Justice Indira Banerjee and Justice Sanjiv Khanna said that it is wrong to put somebody’s face on to somebody else’s person.
Priyanka Sharma had shared a photo on Facebook where she put Mamata’s face on to actor Priyanka Chopra’s picture The Bench has issued notice to the West Bengal government and indicated that a political leader has greater responsibility than a common citizen to exercise restraint.
