The Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror Films has nominated ‘Baahubali- The Beginning” for the 42nd Saturn Awards under five categories.
“Baahubali: The Beginning”, the first of a 2-part epic drama, was directed by the S. S. Rajamouli and produced by Shobu Yarlagadda and Prasad Devineni of Arka Mediaworks. Since its release, “Baahubali: The Beginning” has shattered numerous records and today, stands to be the highest domestic grosser in the history of Indian Cinema.
Founded in 1972 by historian Dr. Donald A. Reed, the Academy is considered the premier organization dedicated to recognizing muti-genre entertainment. A year later, in 1973 the Saturn Awards Organisation was established with the purpose of honouring the exceptional talent from these imaginative and creative fields of entertainment.
‘Baahubali’ has been nominated in a total of five categories including Best Fantasy Film, Best Film Music (MM Keeravani) , Best Film Production Design (Sabu Cyril), Best Supporting Actress (Tamannaah), and Best Film Costume Design (Rama Rajamouli & Prashanti Tipirneni).
Other films that have been nominated for the Saturn Awards 2016 are “Jurassic World”, “Mad Max: Fury Road”, “Avengers: Age of Ultron” and “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
