The Australian Consulate-General (Chennai) is hosting an Australian Film Showcase till April 10 at PVR cinemas in Forum Sujana Mall, Kukatpally. Entry is free and open to the general public. Complimentary passes are available on the day of screening at the PVR box office. The film festival will showcase 10 mainstream Australian films – from the 2015 Kate Winslet and Liam Hemsworth-starrer The Dressmaker (2015) to the original 1979 Mel Gibson-starrer Mad Max.
The opening of the film showcase will also feature two special guests. Activist Amala Akkineni will be present before the 7pm screening of Red Dog (2011) while Australian filmmaker Robyn Kershaw, the producer of Bran Nue Dae (2009) will intearct with the audiences before the movie screening which begins at 4pm.
