The star cast for Rajni’s Darbar helmed by AR Murgadoss is getting bigger and better by the day. It was confirmed earlier that Ek Deewana Tha star Pratheik Babbar was included in the star cast. Now, the latest reports state that Murugudoss has roped in Hindi star Sunil Shetty as the main villain for this film. It will be interesting to see how Sunil will play the villain’s role after Akshay who did the same in 2.0. Sunil Shetty is slowly transforming himself as a character artist off late and will also be seen as a villain in Sudeep’s Kannada film Phailwan.
Meanwhile, Sunil will soon join the second schedule of the film which will start in Mumbai very soon. Rajinikanth has already shot an action sequence with Prateik Babbar who will be seen playing Suniel Shetty’s son in the film. This film marks Suniel’s return as an antagonist after Main Hoon Na, Cash, and No problem. There are also strong reports that Suniel Shetty will join Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal in Hera Pheri 3.
Priyadarshan is all set to return to the franchise and the movie is expected to go on the floors later this year. Darbar is aiming for a release during the Pongal festival in January 2020. The film, which also features Nayanthara, has music by Anirudh and camera work by Santosh Sivan. The action drama is Rajinikanth’s 167th movie and will see the actor as a police officer, which he has played in several Tamil and Hindi films.
