Andhra Annam, a soulful Andhra Restaurant has launched its 1st Outlet in Chennai which is conveniently located in the heart of OMR, in OMR Food Street, Kandancavadi, Perungudi and will be open to public from 21st August, 2018 onward. The opening ceremony was celebrated in a traditional way by lighting of the Kuthu Villakku by all the mothers of the team members and ribbon cut by the all staff of Andhra Annam. This was accompanied by soulful unplugged style singing by Ajeesh, playback Singer and Febin Pillai of super singer fame.
The 1500 sq.ft restaurant serves traditional home style Andhra food with a contemporary modern twist and the interiors are tastefully done and reflect the motto of the restaurant – tradition and simplicity with a dash of international flair. The cheerful colour scheme of the interiors is aptly complimented by the comfortable, functional furniture and charming traditional swings (which double as seating for customers) all adding to the warm and welcoming ambience. The menu is priced attractively and is affordable by all, students, families and corporate professionals alike. They can seat 54 and are open for service between 12 noon and 11.00p.m.
The cuisine served is undoubtedly traditional Andhra style, from Kothimeera Kodi Vepudu (Coriander Chicken Fritters) to Tomato Pappu (the evergreen Andhra Dal curry) to Thalichina Omam Annam (healthy home-style rice seasoned with Ajwain which can cure stomach ailments). You can expect to be pleasantly surprised by the quirky traditional yet contemporary dishes like Erra Gummadikaya Chaaru served in a soup bowl or dishes like drumstick dumplings are cooked with a twist of spice and served a la lollipop style – attractive to adults and children alike.

The Executive Chef is Doradla Raja Shankar who has Over 16 years of experience in 7 star and 5-star properties across India and Dubai. Chef Raja is passionate about going back to his South Indian roots and instrumental in crafting the unique modern and contemporary yet homely menu.
