Filmmaker Vijay is gearing up with the biopic of Jayalalitha and he even announced the title of the film on the birth anniversary of Amma.The movie is to be titled “Thalaivi” and it is a journey about late former Chief Minister Jayalalitha Amma from her childhood days, her entry in films in 1965 with Vennira Aadai, her role played in politics till her death.He said that the final draft of the script is almost ready and the movie is likely to go on floors from April.
He was unwilling to share the name of the person who would portray Amma. Talks are on with leading Bollywood actresses likeVidya Balan, Kangana Ranaut and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.Incidentally Aishwarya had already played the role of Amma, in Mani Ratnam’s Iruvar in 1997 which happened to be her debut film in Tamil.
