Amma Patrol vehicles were rolled out on the 26 August and since then they have been rendering good service. Till date they have attended to over 3200 calls and have rescued many women and children. They have conducted about 600 awareness programmes on POCSO and women and children related issues.
The patrolling teams have dealt with a variety of cases. They managed to stop a child marriage on the 10th of September at the Thousand Lights area. They rescued a boy who had joined a gang of criminals and counselled him to resume his studies. They have also rescued a number of abandoned and mentally challenged senior citizens. In such a short span of time, they have managed to make their presence felt in society..
