A pilot of Air India had allowed a female friend into the cockpit on February 27 during a Dubai-Delhi flight. A crew member of the flight filed a complaint with the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) as unauthorised persons are not allowed to enter the cockpit and any such entry would be violating the norms in force.
The DGCA said that even though the cabin crew have no role in this incident, the entire crew has been grounded pending investigations. The allegations are being probed and the concerned pilot will be given a chance to present his case as per the principles of natural justice.
Though Air India has not commented on the latest development, it has taken serious note of the incident and a probe is underway.
