US actor Michael K Williams was found dead in a New York City apartment. The 54 year old actor was well known for his role in the thriller ‘The Wire’ which became one of the most popular shows on television. It ran for five seasons from 2002 till 2008.
Williams was also known for his role of Albert Chalky White in the HBO series ‘Boardwalk Empire’ He received many Emmy nominations and was an extremely talented artist.
No official cause of death has been given but it is suspected that it could be due to a possible drug overdose.
William opened up about his battle with drug addiction and had even informed the US media that he spent most of his earnings on narcotics.
The news of his untimely death was met with grief among fans who considered him to be one of the most talented actors of his generation.
