Academy of Motion Picture Arts Has New Members

Six months after announcing intentions to double the number of female and minority members in its ranks by 2020, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has invited 683 new members to join the organization.

Legendary Indian actress Sharmila Tagore, Slumdog Millionaire star Freida Pinto and director Deepa Mehta are among the Indian-origin film personalities, who have been invited by the prestigious Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to be its members.
