Aravinth Srinivas is a doctor from Puducherry. He has penned a heartfelt note to actors Vijay and Simbu regarding the decision to release their films with 100% seating capacity in theatres in Tamil Nadu. Vijay’s Master and Simbu’s Eeswaran are scheduled for release on January 13 and 14. The film industry is happy with the decision of the government to permit 100% occupancy in theatres, but Dr. Aravinth feels that it could increase the risk of Covid 19.
He is a junior resident doctor at JIPMER Puducherry and has placed an open request to Vijay and Simbu on Facebook. He stated that thousands of doctors, police officials and frontline workers are tired due to the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic. All they are requesting is not appreciation for all their efforts but just a small break as they have all worked extremely hard to keep the damage as low as possible. According to him, the pandemic is not over and people are still dying due to it. At this juncture, opening up of theatres will expose people to danger.
