A QUESTION OF ANSWERS!
The pandemic did not come in the way of some pulsating action on the small screen. It was not the IPL cricket tournament but a record twenty four thousand school students from across India who vied with one another at the maiden ‘A Class Apart Mrs.YGP Memorial National School Quiz’ conducted online.
Webcast live on PSBB’s youtube channel ‘Vidyashakthi’, the questions were all centred around ‘India’ offering viewers a gripping edge of the seat experience.
Lending his trademark encyclopaedic elan was Quiz Master Giri Balasubramaniam aka ‘Pickbrain’ along with co -host Rashmi Furtado. The quiz also witnessed celebrity PSBB past pupils Singer Anuradha Sriram and Cricketer Ravichandran Ashwin, not to forget the Chief Guest – tennis legend Vijay Amritaraj making an appearance during the grand finale and posing a few questions to the contestants. The massive exercise was powered by TCS ION and Knowledge Tribe.
Sanjana Bhat from the host school romped home as the winner and bagged a gift voucher of Rs.20,000, while the other three finalists – Srikar, Arudra and Ninad were presented with vouchers worth Rs.10,000 each.
Summing up the event, Dean and Director of the PSBB Group of Schools Sheela Rajendra felt that there could have been “no better way than this to carry forward Mrs YGP’s legacy and her passion for India and Indianess. And most importantly the love for children and their learning.”
A toast to what promises to be a regular blockbuster brains trust event in Chennai’s calendar.
