The returning officer (RO) of Amethi constituency Ram Manohar Misra has set aside objections on Congress President Rahul Gandhi’s nomination papers filed from Amethi. He held the document to be valid after scrutinising allegations of discrepancies over citizenship and educational qualifications.
He heard the arguments of K C.Kaushik, the counsel for Rahul and then passed orders declaring the nomination papers to be valid and rejected the petitions filed by an independent candidate and three others who raised objections regarding Rahul’s citizenship and educational qualifications in their election affidavit.
