7190 Bharatanatyam dancers set a world record for the maximum number of people performing the classical dance form at Sri natarajar Temple in Chidambaram on Sunday. The world record creating dance was performed by 7190 dancers from various age groups They beat the earlier record set by 4525 artistes which was held in Chennai in 2017. The Thillai Natyanjali Trust started planning the event 8 months ago and was originally slated for March 7th but was preponed to March 3rd as it was Sunday to ensure maximum participation.
The participants were aged between 5 and 40 years and were training vigorously for the past few months. They were not only from 8 states in our country but people from the US, UK, Malaysia and Singapore also participated in the event.
